Elite Musical Guidance
World-trained instruction tailored to individual growth.
How would your education change if your voice lessons were tailored to your unique gift? How would your child’s learning style and ambitions improve if their piano lessons targeted their specific learning needs?
Whether it’s building a solid foundation, preparing for conservatory auditions, or developing a lifelong relationship with music, I offer the depth and discipline you and your child will need, as well as the warmth and encouragement my students need to thrive.
Engagement and Retention
Experienced with students along all walks of life.
My lessons combine structured learning using teaching styles such as Orff, Suzuki, Kodaly, and others with creativity and fun, so students look forward to their lessons each week. I use age-appropriate games, engaging repertoire, flexible learning schedules, and milestone celebrations to keep motivation high.
Parents see consistent progress, and my students gain not only skill, but the confidence and joy that carry them through playing and singing for years to come. After all, that’s how I learned, too.

My Story
From Millikin, Wesleyan, and Illinois State University - to Italy, Lithuania, and other beautiful parts of the world, I have studied music as long as I’ve been alive. Through my first college experiences in music education and vocal performance to my adult travels abroad, I’ve gained the well-rounded experience and knowledge your student will need in a music tutor: from music theory and composition, to skill-based techniques like ear training and sight-reading, to repertoire selection, to the musical expression that takes every performance over the mark, I’ve seen and done it all.
I specialize in finding the right pace for students through various musical education styles, and my experience with maintaining flexibility in my lesson plans means that your child will always be right where they need to be. My favorite sessions are preparation for college voice or piano auditions — what an exciting time in our lives! — to take each and every audition forward with the confidence and excitement my students deserve.
My love for music means that I believe every child and student should have access to the music that brings the world to light. I arrive in your home on time and ready for music, and always maintain clear communication about each student’s placement and expectations with progress notes, parent performances, and milestone celebrations so parents are also part of the learning journey. I will always adapt my lesson plans to push students toward their personal excellence wile keeping lessons inspiring, so no student feels lost or bored. We each have a beautiful gift, and I teach the discipline and love for the art every student needs to succeed.
Music plays an incredible trick on our brains that rewires our learning capabilities as we grow by facilitating our cognitive function, especially in speech and logic, and improving discipline, focus, and control, which has been seen to improve scores on STEM standardized testing throughout our educational careers. Students who pursue early music education have provided predictors for higher GPAs as far forward as seventh grade, while older adult learners have provided evidence that late musical education improves neuroplasticity and resists cognitive decline.
Music is an important part of a healthy brain, a healthy body, and a healthy outlook on life, and I believe that music should be part of all of our lives. I’m so very proud to be servicing that need here, in my beloved Bloomington-Normal community.
