Alicia's community has been a guiding force, a source of protection, and a provider.

Alicia has a deep love for her local community, which she has demonstrated through her work as the Resident Associate Coordinator, care aide, and other positions at various organizations, including Home Sweet Home Ministries in Bloomington, IL, the YWCA in Normal, IL, and Synergy Healthcare in Central Illinois. Additionally, she has volunteered at local homeless shelters, food kitchens, churches, and neighborhood hubs.

Alicia continues to use her voice to spread joy throughout the Bloomington-Normal area. As a lover of classical arts, she takes pride in bringing professional musical performances to all layers of her community.

Summer 2024

Aprile

This summer Alicia celebrates the sun with Aprile, a joyful return to popular and renowned classical vocal songs!

Aprile begins with the effervescent Beau Soir, takes a playful stop at Colbran’s La Speranza al Cor Mi Dice, dips into Rachmaninoff’s evocative In the Silence of the Mysterious Night, and finally takes a bow with the illustrious Habanera.

The tour family grows this year with new and old haunts, and Alicia would like to again express her gratitude for the welcome she receives from her local Central Illinois communities!

Winter 2024

Love is in the Air!

We loved last year’s Love Songs show so much we brought it back again!

This year’s expanded Love Songs set includes a few classical hits as well as an extended repertoire of known-and-loved wedding songs. Alicia finds that the most popular sing-a-long piece in this year’s show is Can’t Help Fallin’ in Love with You, while the greatest crowd-pleasers are the classical 3 Browning Songs by Amy Beach.

This year, Alicia was honored to visit her usual haunts, and was welcomed to become a part of the family at Bickford Independent Living in Bourbonnais, Illinois.

Spring 2024

A Little Jazz!

For her volunteer set this winter 2023, Alicia took requests from beloved patrons to create her feel-good program, A Little Jazz.

To prepare for this set, Alicia took a sidestep out of her comfort zone and polled several of her favorite venues for their favorite jazz classics, from Somewhere Over the Rainbow covers to I Put A Spell On You. A Little Jazz also includes known and loved songs such as Feelin’ Good, At Last, and What A Wonderful World.

This year, Alicia demonstrates her gratefulness to her community, her patrons, and her loved ones with the warmth, the saunter, and the nostalgia of jazz classics in several venues in her community; and this year, she’s delighted to return to Evergreen Village in Bloomington, IL,

Summer 2023

Disney Love Songs!

This year’s summer set Disney Love Songs was familiar to the patrons of Heritage Manor, Bloomington, IL; Evergreen Village, Bloomington, IL; and Evergreen Place in Normal, IL.

Alicia happily filled this sweet summer set with popular and classic Disney songs (I See the Light, from the Disney-Pixar film Tangled, was a crowd favorite) and a few of her most-requested wedding walk-out songs. Of the list, Alicia lists I Can’t Help Falling in Love (With You) as dearest to her heart.

Alicia wishes a happy Pride month to all. Love songs are for everyone.

For the 2022 holiday season, Alicia created Spring in December, a program designed to celebrate the seasons and serve as a reminder that though winter may be cold and dark, the spring will always return.

Though many of her usual haunts were on COVID lockdown this year, Alicia was able to share her program with Heritage Manor, Bloomington, IL, and Home Sweet Home Ministries, Bloomington, IL; in addition, Alicia will be performing Spring in December in full concert in January at Evalyn Chapel at Wesleyan University, IL.

Spring in December included well-known titles such as Beau Soir and Ombra Mai Fu, as well as selections from Winterreise and Amy Beach’s Browning Songs.

Alicia greatly enjoyed creating this concert, learning and re-visiting repertoire, and performing her concert for her beloved community. Her favorite selection from Spring in December is Frühlingstraum, from Winterreise.
